I need help - 30/04/19

A lot of people have trouble saying that. Usually, it’s because they don’t want to seem weak or they’re ashamed. To me, that’s odd since I believe it means the opposite.

It requires courage and a lot of strength to be able to recognize that you might need some help, someone who’s job is to listen and give you tools so you can feel better.

Having suffered from depression in the past, I know I’m more at risk to develop mental health issues. ADHD and anxiety also doesn’t help. That’s why I decided to take time in my week to express what I need to let go.

If you need help, it just means you’re strong enough to know your limits.

What makes you feel good? Sounds like a simple question but often people struggle with it. We struggle because we don’t take the time to listen to ourselves.

The other difficulty that strikes us as we try to answer this question is our own judgment. Which, let’s be honest, is damn harsh. Most of us would never let anyone talk to us like we do to ourselves. That’s why it’s important to practice being kind with yourself.

For me, I accepted that I do like to take more time to look good. It has a positive impact on my mind. Took me years to not judge myself on this, I was the one preventing my from joy.
